Something that what highly motivate one person might completely demotivate another.

Example:

One of your team members would love to stand up and give a short speech while they accepted a plaque at your companies annual awards dinner. Another person would quit if threatened with the same thing.

Remove Demotivating Language Like, “I Understand, But..”

Remember when you were a child and something was really bothering and you couldn’t put it in to words, maybe you didn’t even have the words yet? And some adult pats you on the head and says, “I understand, but…” It was patronizing when you were a child and most of us, for better or worse, still carry a lot of child in us.
